SENIOR Spring Events Schedule

SENIORS OF 2024 (and parents)

 

Just a few reminders about what’s coming up in the next few days/weeks:

 

  1. TODAY!!  January 25th- CCMR Fair- 5:30-7:00 There will be someone here to assist you with your FAFSA application.  EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FAFSA APPLICATION PRIOR TO GRADUATION. 

 

  1. Senior Graduation T-shirts are on sale now.  Cost is $10.00.  Deadline Thursday, February 29th.

You will wear them at the Senior Breakfast and Practice on Friday, May 24th.

  1. Wednesday, January 31st- Blood Drive- 9:00-2:00.  You must donate two times during your senior year to be eligible to receive a Red Cord Honors for graduation.

 

  1. TSI (Texas Success Initiative) Feb 6th, March 5th, April 2nd & May 10th - Sign up with Ms. Tracey

 

  1. Monday, February 12th- ETCF Scholarship Committee will be here to present information about their multiple scholarships available to you

 

  1. Wednesday, March 20th- SAT testing @Jefferson High School

 

  1. Tuesday, March 26th- Senior Girls Tea. Excelsior House Hotel in downtown Jefferson.  We will leave the school at 10:45 a.m.

 

  1. Thursday, March 28th @ 6:00 p.m. - National Honor Society Induction – See Mrs. Morgan for details

 

  1. Thursday, May 2nd Blood Drive – 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.  This is it!! This is your last chance to complete your donation of two times during your senior year to graduate with Red Cord Honors or to have someone donate for you if you are ineligible.  If you believe you are eligible for a red cord, please let Nurse Carnley know so she can verify you.  Make sure you sign up now with Nurse Carnley so you can give.

 

  1. Saturday, May 4th – Prom 8:00p.m. - 12:00a.m. @ The Jefferson Transportation Center. See Mrs. McGuire or Mrs. Blair

 

  1. Senior Trip:  Friday, May 10th – Six Flags- Cost of the trip is $75.00 (you may bring extra spending money, HOWEVER, Six Flags is CASHLESS so you must have a card to make additional purchases) Ticket money is due by Friday, April 5th.  If you need to pay your ticket in installments please come see Ms. Tracey or

  1. Friday, May 10th – LAST TSI (Texas Success Initiative) given at Jefferson High School for the year.

  1. Thursday, May 16th- Senior Scholarship & Awards night, 6:00 p.m. at the Jefferson High School Commons area.  All seniors must attend.  It is sad when your name is called out for an award and you are not there to accept it, so please encourage your family and friends to attend with you.  If you just absolutely cannot be there, please let Ms. Tracey or Ms. Sissy know ahead of time.

*** Sunday dress attire – You do not need to bring your cap and gown to this.

 

  1. Friday, May 17th- All School Awards 1:30 p.m.

 

  1. Tuesday, May – The Jefferson Athletic Booster Club Sports Banquet.  Listen to the announcement for cost.  All Varsity athletes and Coaches and spouses will be free, all others will be required to purchase a ticket.  Dress will be Sunday attire; you will not be allowed to participate in shorts, flip-flops, T-shirts, rip, torn or frayed jeans, etc.  Please have respect and take pride in how you dress.

 

  1. Sunday, May 19th-All seniors will be honored with a Baccalaureate Service Sunday evening at The First Baptist Church in Jefferson.  The time will be at 6 p.m.  Seniors, please be there at 5:45 p.m.  Family and friends are invited to attend.  Refreshments will be served afterwards

**Please note: Sunday Dress attire and everyone must bring your cap and gown.

 

  1. Monday, May 20th- Senior Parade in downtown Jefferson @5:00 p.m.  Line-up will begin at 4:30 at the corner of Austin and Walnut. (corner by the 1852 Restaurant)

 

  1.  Tuesday, May 21st – Senior Hall Walk at the Elementary School @ 10:00 a.m. Meet in Multi-Purpose Gym Bring your cap and gown, you will wear them and walk down the halls of the Elementary school.  Please have A LOT on interaction with the kids.  EX: high fives, hugs, handshakes, etc.

 

  1. Wednesday, May 22nd Honors Banquet – 6:00 p.m. at the Jefferson Transportation Center

This is by invitation only and for graduates that are graduating on the Honored graduation plan and their Guests.  Sunday Dress Attire is requested.   More information will be given to those that qualify. 

 

  1. Thursday, May 23rd @ 10:00 a.m. – Graduation Practice and Lunch – We will meet at the Football Field unless the weather is bad; then we will meet in the JHS gym.  ALL SENIORS MUST ATTEND PRACTICE and Lunch will be provided to you all. 

 

  1. Friday, May 24th @ 7:45 a.m.  Senior Breakfast Banquet – Jefferson Transportation/Tourism Building

(parents are needed the day/night before to set up and after the breakfast to clean up, pretty please)

Catered by: IHOP

Seniors and JHS honored guests only will eat free; courtesy of EAST TEXAS PROFESSIONAL CREDIT UNION, everyone is invited but must purchase a ticket prior to the breakfast to get in the door.  Cost will be $15.00 per person.  (We don’t have an actual ticket that will be presented; we have a list that will be checked off at the door upon arrival.)  We have to have our count by Friday, May 1st; therefore, your tickets must be purchased by May 1st.  NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR AND NO ADMITTANCE WITHOUT A TICKET!  We have to do this in order to get an accurate count to the caterer. 

There will be a slide show presentation of the pictures that have been turned in.

Also the senior awards that were voted on by the senior class will be given during the banquet.  Seniors need to wear their senior graduation t-shirt to the breakfast and to the graduation practices.  We will be taking a final picture in your senior shirts. 

 

  1. May 24th  - Final Graduation practice @ approximately 9:30 (After the conclusion of the senior breakfast)

 

  1. July 13th- the last ACT test for the year – register before June 7th

 

EVERYONE MUST BE AT BOTH PRACTICES!  MANDATORY!!

May 24th – GRADUATION – 8:00 P.M.

REMEMBER THE GRADUATION DRESS CODE/MEET IN THE FIELD HOUSE

(REFER TO YOUR GRADUATION INFORMATION HANDOUT)

You will receive this at a later date.

BE THERE BY 7:00 p.m. DON’T BE LATE!!!!

NO FAMILY, FRIENDS, ETC. ALLOWED IN THE FIELD HOUSE
